Job Title: Womens Volleyball Coach
Location: Macon Early College
Position Summary
The Womens Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading developing and mentoring student-athletes in a positive educational-based athletic program. The coach will promote skill development teamwork sportsmanship and academic success while ensuring compliance with school district and state athletic regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Plan organize and conduct all practices games and team activities
- Develop a competitive volleyball program aligned with the schools mission
- Teach fundamental and advanced volleyball skills strategies and conditioning
Student-Athlete Development
- Promote academic achievement and monitor player eligibility
- Foster leadership discipline teamwork and character among athletes
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
Game & Practice Management
- Create practice plans and seasonal training schedules
- Prepare the team for competition including scouting and game strategy
- Supervise athletes during practices games and travel
Compliance & Administration
- Follow all district conference and state athletic association rules
- Maintain accurate records (rosters stats equipment inventory etc.)
- Communicate effectively with administration parents and students
Program Support
- Assist with equipment management and uniform distribution
- Support fundraising efforts and program promotion when applicable
- Attend meetings trainings and professional development as required
Qualifications
- Previous volleyball coaching or playing experience preferred
- Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals rules and strategies
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with high school/early college student-athletes
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet all district and state coaching requirements
Working Conditions
- Requires availability for after-school practices games and occasional weekend events
- Travel may be required for away games
- Physical ability to demonstrate skills and actively participate in practices
