As a PDS supporting SPECIFIC TEAM or CUSTOMER you will be trusted to work on CUSTOMIZE and CUSTOMIZE at LOCATION. In this role a typical day will include:
This position has primary responsibility for the successful adoption and conversion rates of surgeon/hospital trainees to Phaco as the first line of care for cataract surgery. This includes: OR and wet-lab instruction of existing cataract surgeons in the conversion from Phaco to Refractive cataract surgery from ECCE/ SICS to Phaco; the training of surgeon assistance biometry technician non-cataract surgeons in Phaco procedure and techniques; the adoption and proper use of Alcon advanced technology and techniques such as Centurion with active fluids products such as OZiL IOLs and related disposables. Laureate Single-Piece AcrySof IOL Natural IQ DuoVisc Clearcut Knifes. Support field sales as specified by Sales and PD Management in the demonstration of key products to Phaco Development targets. Teach model and coach field personnel (internal and external) to improve competency in the proper use of products surgical technique OR protocol and professional OR conduct.
Major Accountabilities
- On-site assessment and selection of target trainees and hospitals to ensure the selections result in optimal quantity and quality of trainees and Phaco conversion rates for the Phaco Development Program.
- Onsite (Operating Room) and wetlab instruction and consultation of trainees in the entire process of converting from ECCE and SICS to Phaco from Phaco to Refractive cataract surgery. This includes working with designated outside-Alcon consultants (course instructors and on-site proctors) to ensure effective trainee phaco conversion rates and high quality surgical results
- Demonstrate product and procedural excellence to best teach model and coach trainees as well as internal and external field personnel how to achieve optimal surgical and patient results with selected Alcon products while consulting in the OR hospital and wetlab.
- Provide academic support to KOL and FOL to build experts networks. Support specified Alcon Phaco Development training events professional congresses symposiums and special Alcon events
- Complete documentation of; target assessment pre-course preparation surgical observation post-course phaco cases (quantity and surgical results). Compliance with all Alcon administrative and reporting procedure. This includes; Data Analysis Report Trainee Evaluation Weekly Monthly and Expense reporting.
