Are you passionate about providing guests with an experience they will never forget As the AssistantInnkeeper at the Inn at Castle Hillyoullprovide top-notch service and hospitality in an iconic settingwhere guests can explore the historic structures beautiful beaches and the lush landscapes of the Crane Estate.

The Role:

As the Assistant Innkeeperyoullsupport the Innkeeper withoverall management and hospitality of the Inn at Castle Hillincluding daily operations and support functions.

Specificallyyoullbe responsible for:

Management

  • StewardtheInn building and Tavern including scheduling and overseeing all renovations and routine maintenance
  • Oversee the management of the Inn and ensure that all standards are met and all procedures followed to ensure safety of inn staff and guests.
  • Develop new standards to enhance guest service foodandbeverage service and efficient operations of the Inn.
  • Develop foodandbeverage programs.
  • Prepare and cook gourmet breakfastscocktailsand beverages as needed.
  • Oversee front desk operations fielding inquiries and ensuringefficient reservations check-inandcheck-out.
  • Oversee Tavern events includingcorporate retreats wedding buyoutsdinnersand corporate meetings.
  • Work with brides grooms eventplannersand other tavern users to ensure that their needs are met.
  • Oversee and perform tavern set-upandbreakdown.
  • Assume room cleaning and maintenance roles whenappropriate staffis not available. Check guestrooms andcommon areasfor cleanliness presentation and readiness for guests. Wash dry fold and storelaundryas necessary.
  • Attend property staff and local committee meetings as assigned tomaintainstrong and effective communications.
  • Work with other Trustees staff members in the region as well as volunteers and committees.
  • Supervise and train front desk staff serversand housekeepers and be able to perform their tasks when necessary.
  • Develop the social technicaland analytical skills of the staffasappropriate fortheir positions.
  • Create and manage weekly staffschedulefor InnstaffandassisttheInnkeeperwithpayroll management as well as hiring new seasonal staff.
  • Ensure the staff actina professional courteousmanner.
  • Act as Innkeeper in absence of Innkeeper.

Guest Services

  • Greet all visitors to the inn in a professional welcoming mannerand create an atmosphere of warmth and excellent service forguests.
  • Promote Trustees membership and link guests to the work of The Trustees
  • Introduce guests and visitors to the services of theInn as needed.
  • Handle all telephone calls infriendly appropriate manner.
  • Respond to guests needs and answer guests questions and concerns with objectivity and graciousness.
  • Provide Concierge Service helping todirect guests to area attractions and securingdining reservations.

Financial Management and Marketing

  • Ensure accuracy of guest invoices and payments.
  • Accurately post all cash creditcardand other payment information.
  • Prepare end-of-day financial statements; reconcile room sales and foodandbeverage sales.
  • Purchase all food beveragehousekeepingand other supplies according to the needs of the Inn and inventory levels.
  • Prepare and managethebudget and follow budget guidelines for all expenses.
  • Ensure annual revenue goals are met.
  • Develop annual marketing and advertising plan fortheInn including management of Inns media presence seasonal-eblasts and targeted networking.
  • ManagetheInns social media channelswebsite online reviews and online collaborate with overall Crane Estate social media initiatives as needed.
  • Develop and market opportunities to enhance guestsexperience attheInn and other Trustees properties through packagescollaborationsand special events.
  • Collaboratewith areaChambers of Commerce MOTT North of Boston CAVB NEIRA Select Registry and other tourism organizations to promote visibility of the Inn and the Trustees.

This is afull-time exemptposition (40hoursper week)reportingdirectly tothe note that the AssistantInnkeeperis provided withTrusteeshousing andis required tolive on site.



Requirements

WhatYoullNeed:

Skills and Experience:

  • 3 to 5years of experience in hospitalityor hotel operations
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with Trustees staff
  • Excellent management skills with experience leading and supporting a team
  • Experience managing business social media accounts (e.g. Instagram Facebook) including content creation scheduling and audience engagement
  • Ability to create and execute basic marketing strategies that promote the inn drive bookings and reflect the propertys brand through engaging visual and written content
  • Ability to live on property.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration (preferred).
  • ServeSafeCertification (preferred)
  • TIPS Training Certification (preferred)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Current authorization to work in the United States a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
  • A valid drivers license as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees driving policy. if needed
  • A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.
