Lead Maintenance Technician (Electrical Focus)

Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and facility systems to support safe and efficient operations. This role places a strong emphasis on electrical systems controls and diagnostics and will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with deep electrical experience who can independently diagnose issues support automation systems and contribute to long-term equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot diagnose and repair electrical systems including motors drives PLCs sensors and control panels
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics blueprints and technical manuals
- Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley preferred)
- Maintain and repair industrial machinery including mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide timely resolution to minimize production downtime
- Assist with installation modification and relocation of equipment
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities related to equipment performance and reliability
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO)
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve recurring equipment issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree in industrial maintenance electrical systems or related field preferred
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience with a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting
- Proven experience with:
- Electrical systems (120V480V)
- Motor controls VFDs and relays
- PLC troubleshooting (programming a plus not required)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLCs and HMIs
- Knowledge of automation systems and basic programming
- Experience with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery noise and varying temperatures
- Requires standing walking bending and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work based on production needs
