The Role:

Business Risk Partner-PrivateMarkets Real Assets(Inc.Real Estate Impact and Private Equity andInfracapital)

First Line Riskteamsat M&G support the First Line Business Areas with operational risk management and risk reporting in line with the relevantM&GPolicies Frameworks and Standards. They act as first point of contact for the Business Operational Risk Compliance and Audit in relation to risk and control matters for their respective Business Area or the Business Unitin order torepresentthe different areas/businesses within private markets including the acquired companies. The role is for aBusiness Risk Partner supportingthe Real Assets businesses (Real EstateInfracapital Impact and Private Equity)within the Private Markets business area. The role willreport intoHead ofRiskforRealAssetsandwork closely with therest of the Private Markets Risk team andrelevant members ofsenior leadership team inPrivate Markets.

The role supports senior leaders throughdelivering highquality governance clearinsightand proportionatechallenge. It helps enable leaders todemonstratethat risks are owned understoodcontrolledand managed within M&Gs risk appetite. The roleoperateswith significant visibility acting as a trusted firstline risk and control partner to management and governance forums.

Key Activities / Responsibilities Include:

  • Act as a liaison coordinationpointwiththeReal Assetsbusinesseswithin Private Markets.

  • Support the management of Risk Events arising in the Real Assets businessesin line with Operational Risk requirements.

  • Support the management of Real Assets related Issues and Actions to ensure alignment with the Operational Risk requirementsandtimelyclosure ofissues and actions.

  • Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) -Identifyand manage top risks and mitigating actions/controls with the RCSA Owners across the Real Asset businesses.

  • Represent First line risk asappropriate atthe relevant Real Assets governance forums and with the relevant stakeholders includingRisk support with respect tothe execution of strategic projects and initiatives.

  • Support and co-ordinate the annual M&G Real Estate Service Organisation Control (SOC) Report update

  • Conflicts of Interest management -Lead the identification reporting and maintenanceofthe relevant Conflicts of Interest Registerentriesin MetricStreamincludingmonitoringmitigating actions/controlsfor the Real Assets businesses.

  • Maintain the relevant Conflicts of Interest Registerentriesin MetricStreamfor the Real Assets businesses.

  • Oversee Key Control Assessments (KCAs) and other control testing (e.g. led by Audit) being the key point of contact around risk and controls discussions and issuesfor theReal Asset businesses.

  • Support remediation of control deficiencies audit findings regulatoryissuesand selfidentifiedissues working closely with business owners to achievetimelyand sustainable outcomes.

  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of supporting artefacts such asriskprocess maps controllibrariesand underlying documentation to reflect the true operating environment.

  • Risk monitoring - Monitor risk and control environment e.g. MI across conduct risk reputational riskfinancial crimethird-party suppliers business risks valuations resiliency (BCPs) for Real Assets Business lines.

  • Identifyand manage emerging risks proactively forthe Real Assets businesses via e.g. via trend analysisdialogue with the businesses vis a visindustry geo-political andbusiness developments.

  • Perform or support with thematic reviews aswith focus on key emerging risksacross the Real Assets businesses.

  • Support with the risk management of Model and User-developed Application (MUDA) risks.

  • Support with the identificationand reportingof risk appetite working closely with senior SMEs to understand risk metrics and linkage to appetite.

  • Risk Governance & Reporting Review / enhance / prepare risk and control-related papers for governance forumsas.

  • Risk and control SME advice - Support the First Lineacross the Real Assets businesseswith the maintenance and roll out of the risk and control framework.

Knowledge Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in a first/secondline riskcontrolor governance role within a regulated financial services environment.

  • (Desirable) Knowledge of asset management investment products specifically Real Estate Private Equity Impact Investing and Infrastructure finance and operational environments would be beneficial.

  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworkstoolsand methodologies including RCSAs control designtestingand assurance.

  • Experience preparing and presenting risk and control materials for senior management and governance forums.

  • Proven ability to produce clearstructuredand highquality management information and analysis.
