Planning Room Director Needed
Location: Williston Central School

Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking a dedicated and versatile Planning Room Director to join our Student Support and Behavior Systems team at Williston Central School starting FY27. We are looking for a professional who can balance proactive planning with real-time response using a holistic approach to maintain a safe positive and high-quality learning environment for our students in grades 3-8.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the repair work and restorative actions necessary to support students in crisis identifying barriers to learning and providing education on behavioral expectations.
- Respond to students who may be highly dysregulated in classrooms or other school settings using trauma-informed approaches. This includes utilizing CPI de-escalation techniques and restrictive interventions in accordance with CVSD protocols and AOE Rule 4500.
- Direct the collection and input of behavioral data (referrals CICO) across platforms like SWIS and Google. Ensure clear timely communication with staff students and families regarding referral outcomes.
- Implement specific behavioral and instructional plans as guided by the Behavior System Coordinators and administration.
- Support the investigation of student interactions (including HHB and Title IX) following state and district policies.
- Maintain a presence throughout the school day by supervising lunch recess and bus arrival/dismissal to ensure a consistent safe climate.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Relevant experience supporting students and families across the 3-8 spectrum with the ability to adapt quickly to the differing needs of primary and middle schoolers.
- A solid understanding of Restorative Practices Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and trauma-informed care.
- A high degree of dependability and the desire to work across multiple faculty teams to help students learn self-regulation strategies.
- The ability to interface effectively and with clarityboth in-person and in writingwith students staff and outside agencies.
