Job Summary

Director of Sales & Marketing

Summary of Responsibilities

The director of sales and marketing is a key member of the hotels executive leadership team
responsible for driving revenue performance across all market segments elevating brand
visibility and cultivating strong client relationships. This role oversees the strategic direction of
the sales marketing and event teams to ensure the hotel meets or exceeds revenue goals
while delivering an exceptional guest experience aligned with brand standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives

Develop comprehensive action plans and set measurable objectives to increase revenue
and maximize profitability
Implement targeted sales and marketing strategies to attract new clients and strengthen
existing business
Conduct ongoing research and market analysis to identify emerging opportunities new
segments and competitive trends
Partner with revenue management to optimize pricing inventory and distribution channels
Maintain full knowledge of all hotel services amenities and upgrades to effectively position
the property and support successful sales efforts
Seek out and secure business from large organizations including corporate groups
government agencies churches sports teams and other high-value segments
Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to drive awareness occupancy F&B
revenue and event bookings
Prepare distribute and oversee promotional materials advertisements and digital content
to enhance brand visibility
Ensure all marketing communications align with brand standards and hotel policies
Collaborate with corporate marketing teams and local partners to maximize exposure and
community engagement
Oversee the management of key client accounts ensuring long-term relationships and
repeat business
Communicate upgrades new offerings and service enhancements to clients to encourage
increased patronage
Maintain regular contact with clients to gather feedback address concerns and reinforce
loyalty
Ensure client needs and expectations are met throughout their stay or event experience
Collaborate closely with event planners wedding coordinators and catering teams to drive
bookings and ensure seamless execution
Oversee payment processing and ensure full and timely collection for services rendered
Lead mentor and develop the sales catering and marketing teams to achieve
departmental goals
Oversee training and development of sales support staff to ensure strong performance and
service excellence
Establish clear performance expectations conduct regular coaching sessions and support
professional growth
Foster a collaborative culture that prioritizes communication accountability and guest
satisfaction
Maintain a thorough understanding of hotel policies and ensure departmental compliance
Prepare and manage the annual sales and marketing budget
Forecast revenue track performance and present results to ownership and corporate
leadership
Oversee contracts proposals and negotiations to ensure profitability and compliance
Maintain accurate records reports and CRM data
Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in hospitality business marketing or related field preferred
Five to seven years of progressive hotel sales leadership experience ideally in a full-service
environment
Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and leading high-performing teams
Strong understanding of revenue management digital marketing and market segmentation
Excellent communication negotiation and relationship-building skills
Proficiency with hotel sales systems (Delphi SalesPro CI/TY or similar) and CRM tools

Scheduling

Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business
hours weekends and non-traditional holidays
May be required to be on-call and aid during times of high demand

Environment

Exposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurant
