Job Summary

  • Full Time 38 hours per week
  • Temporary until 11 May 2027
  • Location: Sydney
  • District Fisheries Officer Salary from $117212 up to $125377 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading
  • Expenses outside the normal operation of this role will not be considered.

About the Role
This professional development opportunity is within the Fisheries Compliance Unit of DPIRD Fisheries & Forestry presenting opportunity to develop your skills knowledge and experience in a range of capabilities associated with delivering on regulatory responsibilities related to responsible formanaging the Zoneallocatingresources settingprioritiesanddeveloping projects.

The role activities include:

  • Review and endorse fisheries compliance activities using a risk-based approachtomaximise voluntary compliance and create effectivedeterrence.
  • Casemanagecomplex investigations
  • Review evidence offence reports briefing notes and correspondence
  • Developingreviewingand approving operational planning material
  • Engaging in routine patrol duties and planned operations
  • Leading and supervisingstatewide staffinvestigationsand operations

About You
To be eligible to be considered for this position you will needto:-

  • Be currently Authorised as a Fisheries Officer under the Fisheries Management Act
  • Have within the last 2 years competently completed Baton Handcuff & Tactical Communications Training
  • Completed a Cert IV in Government Investigations
  • Hold a ASMA issued Coxswain certificate of capacity Grade 1/2 near coastal or higher.
