Position: Respiratory Therapist - Geriatric
Location: Skilled Nursing Facility
Salary Range: $35.34 - $38.83 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday with every other weekend rotation
Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferably in a geriatric setting

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team and provide specialized care to our geriatric population. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Respiratory Therapist with a strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by older adults.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for geriatric patients
- Administer and monitor respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy nebulizer treatments and chest physiotherapy
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care disease management and prevention techniques
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans
- Participate in staff meetings and continuing education opportunities to stay current on best practices and advancements in respiratory care
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Respiratory Therapist license
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferably in a geriatric setting
- Strong knowledge of respiratory diseases and conditions commonly found in the geriatric population
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
