Job Summary
Position: Respiratory Therapist - Geriatric
Salary Range: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per week Monday - Friday with weekend rotation and 8-hour day shifts
Job Description:
In this role you will be responsible for assessing treating and managing respiratory conditions in elderly patients. Your expertise and dedication will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for our elderly patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of geriatric patients respiratory conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
- Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy nebulizer treatments chest physiotherapy and mechanical ventilation
- Monitor patients responses to treatments and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions treatments and self-care techniques
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Stay current with developments in respiratory therapy through continuing education and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Respiratory Therapist in the state
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy preferably in a geriatric setting
- Strong knowledge of respiratory conditions and treatments for the elderly population
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in weekend rotations
