Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Level 1 Desktop Engineer to join our IT support team in Almaty Kazakhstan. This is a backfill position with an immediate start requirement.
The successful candidate will provide first-line technical support for end users assist with desktop and laptop troubleshooting handle hardware and software issues and support daily IT operations.
This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills hands-on desktop support experience and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 desktop and technical support to end users
- Troubleshoot hardware software printer and network connectivity issues
- Install configure and maintain desktops laptops and peripherals
- Support Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Perform user account setup password resets and access support
- Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level support teams when required
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities for employees
- Maintain accurate ticket updates and documentation
- Assist with inventory management and device tracking
- Ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests
Required Skills & Experience
- 13 years of experience in desktop support or IT support roles
- Good knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting
- Experience with hardware setup and troubleshooting
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Experience using ticketing systems is preferred
- English communication skills required
- Russian or Kazakh language skills are an advantage
Preferred Qualifications
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A Microsoft or similar are advantageous
