Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to manage day-to-day procurement activities while supporting logistics operations including shipping and receiving coordination. This role is ideal for someone with strong purchasing experience who can also contribute to freight coordination vendor management and documentation processes.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing
Source evaluate and select suppliers based on pricing quality and delivery timelines
Issue purchase orders and track order status to ensure timely delivery
Maintain optimal inventory levels in coordination with production planning
Negotiate pricing terms and contracts with vendors
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities on raw materials and supplies
Analyze material costs and develop strategies to reduce overall spend
Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays quality concerns and discrepancies
Logistics & Shipping
Obtain freight quotes from carriers and logistics providers
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments
Prepare and manage shipping documentation (BOLs packing slips customs documents as required)
Work closely with receiving teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery
Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
Maintain records of shipments freight costs and logistics performance
Qualifications
510 years of experience in purchasing procurement or supply chain
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Exposure to logistics shipping or receiving is a strong asset
Knowledge of freight coordination carrier communication and shipping documentation
Strong negotiation and communication skills
High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook)
