Location: This is a hybrid position based in Bernardsville New Jersey offering flexibility while maintaining regular connection with our litigation team courts clients and case work.

Note: Candidates must be admitted to the New Jersey Bar and have 1-3 years of civil litigation experience. Insurance defense experience is preferred but not required unless directly applicable.

Job Description

• Assist with civil litigation and insurance defense matters from early case development through resolution.
• Draft pleadings motions discovery legal correspondence and client reports.
• Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy liability analysis damages analysis and case valuation.
• Support depositions court appearances mediations arbitrations and trial preparation.
• Communicate with clients experts witnesses opposing counsel and courts.
• Manage litigation deadlines case files discovery responses and assigned tasks.
• Work closely with senior attorneys while developing greater independence and responsibility.
• Maintain accurate billable time and provide quality client service.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active New Jersey Bar admission in good standing.
• 1-3 years of civil litigation experience.
• Insurance defense general liability construction litigation auto liability products liability or property damage experience preferred.
• Strong legal writing research communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Comfortable appearing in court handling discovery and communicating professionally with clients and counsel.
• Willingness to travel for hearings depositions court appearances and related case work as needed.
