Inventory Control Specialist
Department: Supply Chain
Status: Non-Exempt
Employee Classification: Regular Full-time
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Job Summary: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory accuracy and traceability for a fast-paced food manufacturing company through accurate transactions and regular audits.
Essential Functions:
- Reviews Production Work Orders (WO) for completeness and accuracy
- Oversees input WO into ERP system in timeline set by management
- Identifies WO errors and research source; communicate and report errors
- Oversees complete all system workflows in timeline set by management
- Oversees transact inventory adjustments
- Creates and maintains inventory cycle count process
- Perform traceability activities to support food safety program
- Performs audits of accurate BOM creation (new and revisions)
- Act as primary back-up to Logistics Coordinator in all inventory transaction and inventory receiving activities
- Maintains expired finish product workflows
- Review safety stock on finished goods
- Makes applicable edits to item cards
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Some college coursework preferred
- 2 years administrative experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Inventory management experience preferred
- ERP experience preferred
Working Conditions/Physical Factors:
- Must be able to sit stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
- Worker may be exposed to hazards in the workplace such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat moving parts and electrical current
- Must be able to work in environment containing allergens (nuts milk wheat etc.)
- Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.
- Occassionally required to lift / push / pull / carry weight up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision distance vision and color vision.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
