Maintenance Technician

Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance repair and upkeep of facilities and grounds at Kids In Distress. This role ensures a safe clean and fully operational environment for staff children and visitors by performing routine maintenance addressing repair needs and supporting preventative maintenance efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings equipment and systems
• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems and components
• Complete light electrical work including fixtures outlets and minor wiring repairs
• Perform plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks clearing clogs and replacing fixtures
• Maintain grounds through weed trimming and leaf removal
• Conduct pressure washing of buildings sidewalks and outdoor areas
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks and maintain service schedules
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
• Maintain tools equipment and accurate maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with safety standards policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred
• Working knowledge of HVAC electrical and plumbing systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Valid drivers license required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift carry and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand walk bend climb ladders and perform physical labor
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment: This position involves both indoor and outdoor work and may require exposure to heat humidity noise and mechanical equipment.
