Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance repair and upkeep of facilities and grounds at Kids In Distress. This role ensures a safe clean and fully operational environment for staff children and visitors by performing routine maintenance addressing repair needs and supporting preventative maintenance efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings equipment and systems
Diagnose and repair HVAC systems and components
Complete light electrical work including fixtures outlets and minor wiring repairs
Perform plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks clearing clogs and replacing fixtures
Maintain grounds through weed trimming and leaf removal
Conduct pressure washing of buildings sidewalks and outdoor areas
Execute preventative maintenance tasks and maintain service schedules
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
Maintain tools equipment and accurate maintenance records
Ensure compliance with safety standards policies and procedures
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred
Working knowledge of HVAC electrical and plumbing systems
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Valid drivers license required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift carry and move up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand walk bend climb ladders and perform physical labor
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Environment: This position involves both indoor and outdoor work and may require exposure to heat humidity noise and mechanical equipment.
