Primary Purpose
Guaranteethe effective execution of the House Bill 3 Reading Academy mandates. This entailsfurnishingregional leadership conducting staff development sessions and delivering instructional coaching tailored to K-3 literacy. The overarching aim is to enhance the capacity of Reading Academy participants in literacy instruction and equip them with best practices foroptimaloutcomes.

Education/Certification
- MastersDegree required.
- Texas Teacher Certification- Elementary ELAR is preferred.
- Administrative Certification is preferred.

- Strong knowledge of the science of teaching reading.
- Demonstrate mastery of Reading Academies course content.
- Depth of knowledge in adult learning theory.
- Demonstrated ability to implement instructional practices that increase student achievement.
- Ability to manage self-directed projects.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of successful classroom teaching experience isrequired.
- Minimumof 3 years of successful experience in coaching teachers isrequired.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful K-3 classroom teaching experience isrequired.
- Successful completion of the Texas Reading Academies Cohort Leader Screener.
- Successful completion of the Texas Reading Academies or Texas Reading Academies Cohort Leader experience isrequired.

- Demonstrate knowledge of job-specific content the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills or State Guidelines the state assessment and accountability system and state initiatives and standards.
- Demonstrate technology integration skills asappropriate forthe role.
- Demonstrate understanding and implementation of differentiatedinstructionto ensure success for all students.
- Provide training and instructional coaching in the delivery of effective K-3 literacy instruction.
- Provide effective leadership to all stakeholders.
- Facilitate professional learning and provide technicalassistanceto campuses/districts/ charter schools.
- Know research supporting effective lesson design to support learners and demonstrate andunderstand ofTEKS/Guideline-based instruction.
- Demonstrate a skillset of research-based instructional coaching and adult learning theory.
- Connect the state standards to the Science of Teaching Reading.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Reading Academies processes and systems.
- Implement and adhere to the Reading Academies timelines/due dates/state requirements.

Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)
Mental:Public relations and people skills are alwaysrequired work with frequent interruptions andmaintainprofessional composure and confidentiality under stress.
Physical:Occasional prolonged and irregular hours ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and use of a computer. Frequent region and state-wide travel.Capability to stand speak and actively engage with audiences for extended periods during training and presentations.

Evaluation
Annual performance evaluation will be performedin accordance withthe adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region in this position is contingent upon performance need and funding.
