WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Chassis Quality Technician Co-Op is responsible for supporting manufacturing quality operations with a primary focus on torque-controlled processes defect prevention and compliancetoquality standards. This role provides hands-on exposure to production quality systems proper torque application and inspection methods that ensure chassis assemblies meet all safety and customer requirements.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Assist in conducting workplace safety inspections hazard assessments and job safety analyses

  • Execute chassis assembly tasks with strict adherence to torque specifications quality standards and approved work instructions.

  • Set up use and verify manual and electronic torque tools (e.g. torque wrenches nutrunners) in accordance with quality requirements.

  • Perform torque verification checks and document results in quality records or electronic systems.

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure conformance to drawings torque values and workmanship standards.

  • Identify nonconformances document defects and escalate quality concerns using established reaction plans.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to torque assembly or tool-related issues.

  • Confirm calibration status of torque tools and report out-of-tolerance or damaged equipment.

  • Follow all safety procedures PPE requirements and lockout/tagout rules while performing quality-related tasks.

  • Participate in continuous improvement 5S and error-proofing initiatives to improve product quality and process reliability.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a technical manufacturing engineering or quality-related Co-Op program.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with an interest in manufacturing quality and compliance.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings work instructions and torque specifications.

  • Willingness to learn quality systems inspection techniques and torque-control best practices.

  • Ability to use hand tools and operate in a production environment for extended periods.

  • Commitment to maintaining safety quality and documentation standards

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in manufacturing quality inspection or automotive assembly.

  • Familiarity with torque-controlled fastening processes or calibration concepts.

  • Exposure to quality documentation such as inspection records checklists or control plans.

  • Introductory knowledge of chassis systems or mechanical assemblies

Physical Requirements

  • Ability tolift upto 40 lbs.

  • Ability to stand bend reach and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/production floor with noise moving equipment and mandatory PPE requirements.
