The Role

We are seeking an experiencedDesign Manager Water Infrastructureto join our growing team. This highprofile clientfacing role will suit a collaborative leader with strong technical depth and proven design management capability.

Leveraging your extensive experience in wastewater treatment and/or networks you will combine engineering design excellence with effective project and stakeholder management to lead complex multidisciplinary outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

With a minimum of 15 years experience your responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical oversight of engineering design packages
• Leading the technical delivery of a major project or program
• Building and sustaining strong effective relationships with clients and delivery partners
• Coordinating and guiding multidisciplinary design teams
• Representing SMEC as a proactive advisor committed to creating positive impact

About You

You will have a proven track record in a similar role within an engineering design consultancy coupled with a passion for building trusted relationships with clients and delivery partners.

You will bring:

• Minimum 15 years experience
• Strong local experience delivering designs and design management for wastewater treatment plants and/or wastewater networks.
• Familiarity with design and construction and alliance delivery models.
• Proven commercial acumen including the ability to manage program scope budgets risk and client expectations
• Extensive experience coordinating and delivering complex multidisciplinary engineering designs
• Strong track record in managing interfaces with clients contractors regulators and key stakeholders
• Highly developed communication negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to build trust and lead confidently in clientfacing environments
