Whats the role
This is a rare opportunity to take on a highly visible role at the centre of Westpacs global debt investor programs. As Director Debt Investor Relations youll lead how Westpac connects with fixed income investors and research analysts across domestic and international markets shaping the narrative around our funding strategy performance and risk profile.
Based in Sydney and sitting within Group Treasury youll act as the primary point of contact for debt investors working closely with the Group Treasurer Investor Relations and senior leaders across the bank. Youll lead investor roadshows manage key investor relationships and ensure Westpacs messaging is clear accurate and credible in a highly regulated highprofile environment.
This role offers a unique platform to influence senior decision making represent one of Australias leading banks on the global stage and play a meaningful role in how Westpac engages with the market.
What do I need
To thrive in this role youll be someone who can build trust quickly across the bank and external markets and bring clear confident thinking into highstakes conversations by balancing investor expectations with strong judgement and disclosure discipline.
- Market-facing communication strength - you translate complex treasury and bank information into clear accurate messaging and materials that land well with external audiences.
- Enterprise alignment -you build and maintain close relationships across Treasury Finance Risk and our customer facing businesses bringing stakeholders together to align messaging and ensure it is clear and consistent.
- Debt investor and analyst credibility - youre comfortable engaging directly with domestic and international fixed income investors and research analysts building long-term relationships and handling requests with confidence and professionalism.
- Strong disclosure and risk mindset - you understand what clear accurate and not misleading looks like and youre comfortable working within market disclosure obligations and escalation pathways when issues are sensitive.
- Treasury and markets understanding - you bring solid working knowledge of the Treasury environment (including funding liquidity and capital) and can juggle multiple priorities under time pressure without losing attention to detail.
- Executive-level stakeholder management - you can influence across senior internal stakeholders (Treasury leadership Investor Relations Finance Legal Risk and Communications) keeping the right people informed and aligned on key issues and deliverables.
