Job Summary

In partnership with our client we are seeking an Inbound Inventory Executive to manage the receiving verification and documentation of inbound goods at a leading retail brand based in Lagos. You will be the first line of quality control for every shipment that enters the warehouse ensuring quantities are correct documentation is accurate and stock is placed correctly and on time. Who are we looking for
  • You are a warehouse and inventory professional with 2 to 4 years of experience in inbound operations with a strong understanding of goods receipt stock verification and documentation processes.
  • You are highly detail-oriented and understand that every discrepancy shortage or damage that goes unrecorded at the point of receipt creates a problem downstream.
  • You are organised and systematic with a methodical approach to put-away record-keeping and stock placement that keeps the warehouse running cleanly and efficiently.
  • You are familiar with Warehouse Management Systems or ERP systems and comfortable using them to update inbound records accurately and in real time.
  • You are a clear communicator who can flag issues coordinate with inventory and quality teams and escalate discrepancies promptly without hesitation.
  • You are a person of high integrity who understands the importance of honesty and accuracy in a role that directly impacts stock records financial reconciliation and business decisions.
Your Responsibilities
Receiving and Verification
  • You will receive inbound shipments from port and internal transfers verifying quantities quality and documentation against purchase orders to ensure every delivery matches what was expected.
  • You will flag shortages damages and discrepancies immediately upon receipt ensuring nothing is accepted or put away without proper documentation and sign-off.
  • You will coordinate with the Inventory and Quality teams for inspections where required ensuring all inbound goods meet the required standards before entering stock.
Put-Away and Stock Placement
  • You will ensure the timely put-away of all received items into designated warehouse locations maintaining a clean organised and well-structured stock environment at all times.
  • You will maintain accurate inbound records and system updates ensuring that stock levels in the WMS or ERP system always reflect what is physically on the shelves.
Documentation and Reporting
  • You will maintain accurate and up-to-date inbound records ensuring all goods receipt documentation is completed correctly and filed in a timely manner.
  • You will support cycle counts and stock audits contributing accurate data and physical counts that support inventory accuracy across the warehouse.
What Success looks like
  • All inbound shipments received verified and documented accurately with zero discrepancies going unrecorded or unresolved.
  • Put-away completed within defined timeframes with stock placed correctly in designated locations and system records updated in real time.
  • Shortages damages and discrepancies flagged immediately upon receipt with supporting documentation completed accurately and escalated to the relevant team.
  • Stock records in the WMS or ERP system consistently aligned with physical inventory supporting accurate reporting and financial reconciliation.
  • A clean organised and well-maintained inbound area that reflects high operational standards and supports efficient warehouse flow.
To be considered for this role you should have
  • An OND HND or Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of warehouse inbound experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems or ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy in all tasks.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and flag issues clearly and promptly.
Challenges you may face in this role
  • Maintaining accuracy and thoroughness across high volumes of inbound shipments particularly during peak periods when delivery frequency increases significantly.
  • Identifying and flagging discrepancies damages or shortages quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment where the pressure to move stock can sometimes work against careful verification.
  • Keeping system records consistently aligned with physical inventory in a dynamic warehouse environment where stock is constantly moving.
  • Coordinating effectively with multiple internal teams including Finance E-commerce and Quality to ensure inbound processes run smoothly end to end.
