Job Description:
The Environmental Heatly & Safety Specialist will ensure the safety and health of all employees and visitors to our facilities. The EH&S Specialist will develop and implement safety plans conduct safety training investigate accidents and hazards and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or reduce potential risks. The EH&S Specialist will also monitor the use of safety and personal protective equipment as well as inspect the facility to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement safety plans procedures and policies in accordance with OSHA standards
- Monitor and inspect the facility and its equipment to ensure compliance
- Investigate accidents and hazardous conditions and recommend corrective measures. Conduct safety training and awareness programs.
- Monitor and suggest the use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Stay informed of changes in safety regulations and legislation to ensure compliance.
- Ensure that all safety-related documentation and records are properly maintained and updated.
- Respond to safety and health-related inquiries and complaints.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- 4-8 years experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and other relevant software.
- 4-8 years experience and In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards NFPA IBC and other applicable EHS regulations.
- Practical understanding of ISO 14064-1 and GHG emissions management.
- Technical understanding of environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
- Knowledge of safety laws regulations and standards
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with California State and regional EHS regulations.
- Subject matter expertise in OSHA regulations NFPA electrical safety air quality storm water and DTSC hazardous waste hazardous communication/chemical safety and emergency response.
- Involvement in high performance programs: VPP ISO
- Strong root cause analysis skills
- Experience using and leveraging EHS&S common systems such as Gensuite and Sphera
- Teamwork interpersonal problem-solving and analysis skills
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in Colorado State Hawaii Illinois Maryland Minnesota Vermont and New York State is $69K-$128K. For California New Jersey Massachusetts Washington D.C. Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area the city of Denver Washington State and New York City the salary range for this role is $79-$147K. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
