TheEXTRACORPOREAL RESOUCE NURSE (RN3/ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER)willplay a pivotal rolein coordinationwiththe Program Manager for Dialysis andTransfusionoverseeing the day-to-day operations of extracorporealtherapies including ECMOCRRTHD DialysisTransfusion servicesensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and adherence to regulatory standards. Thispositionpromotes operational efficiency supports hospital-wide educational initiatives and champions continuous learning tomaintainstaffproficiencyin the latest techniques protocols and best clinical practices. By fostering a culture rooted in safety collaboration and innovation thisrole willenhanceteam performance and patient outcomes. The role encompasses both administrative and clinical responsibilities including staff development interdisciplinary coordination and the implementation of quality improvement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:

  • Assistin managing/coordinating staffing and resource allocation for extracorporeal services.

  • Educational Program Development:

  • Continuedsupport/refinement ofcurrentcomprehensive training programs for new and existingextracorporealnursing staff.

  • Develop educational materials online modules hands-on training sessions andwriting policyand proceduresas needed.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements inextracorporealcare and integrate them into training programs.

  • Staff Training and Development:

  • Conduct orientation sessions fornewstaffand ongoing training for current staff.

  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to nursing staff.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.

  • Clinical Support:

  • Assistin the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.

  • Be available to provide clinical supportmentorshipandguidance to nursing staff

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • QualityAssurance andImprovement:

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.

  • Monitor and analyze clinical performance data to identify areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with thecareteamto develop and implement action plans.

  • Research and Evidence-Based Practice:

  • Promote the use of evidence-based practices inextracorporealcare.

  • Conduct and support clinical research projects related to dialysis.

  • Disseminate research findings and best practices for nursing staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

SCHEDULE:
90% FTE (36 hoursper week) Day shift with potential for on-call duties.

LOCATION & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Harborview Medical Center Campus- Seattle First Hill
Work in a clinical environment with exposure to patients and medical equipment lifting >10 lbs. ability to push heavy dialysis equipment throughout hospital.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) required; Mastersdegreepreferred.

  • Licensure:Current WA RN license

  • Experience:Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with at least 2 years inICUsetting.Current ECMO operator CRRTandMTP nurseexperiencepreferred.

  • Certifications:BLS and ACLS CCRN and ECMO specialist Certification preferred.

  • Desired ExperiencePrevious experience in nursing education or staff development and current knowledge of Harborviewextracorporeal services.

  • Skills:Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.Proficiencyin electronic medical records (EMR) systems Microsoft Office skills.

Compensation Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$49.23 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$91.22 hourly

Other Compensation:

$1/hour BSN premium $1/25 hour nursing specialty certification
