JOB DESCRIPTION: Director of Human Resources

POSITION SUMMARY:
- Under the direction of the Superintendent the Director Human Resources leads the Districts workforce strategy and oversees all human resources operations. This position ensures effective recruitment retention development and support of District staff while promoting a positive and productive organizational culture aligned with the Districts strategic priorities.
- The Human Resources Director is responsible for ensuring that human capital systems operate effectively to support student success through strong staffing employee relations and organizational development.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Human Resources Director:
- Leads the Districts workforce planning and staffing strategy. *
- Oversees recruitment hiring onboarding and retention of District employees. *
- Supervises and supports HR operations including employee relations and performance management. *
- Oversees implementation of employee evaluations across employee groups. *
- Ensures effective systems are in place for employee support and professional growth. *
- Supervises and evaluates HR staff including HR Director and related functions. *
- Oversees benefits administration and payroll coordination. *
- Leads workforce initiatives that promote employee engagement and organizational effectiveness. *
- Supports leadership in addressing personnel concerns and workplace issues. *
- Collaborates with the Chief Legal & Policy Officer to ensure personnel practices align with applicable law. *
- Implements policies and administrative regulations related to employment practices. *
- Oversees licensure tracking and credentialing requirements for employees. *
- Supports interest-based employee conferral strategy and labor relations processes. *
- Coordinates employee retention and morale initiatives. *
- Ensures consistency and fairness in HR processes across the District. *
- Provides written and oral presentations to District leadership and the Board of Trustees as needed. *
- Collaborates with other cabinet members to ensure appropriate staffing and workforce support across departments. *
- Attends Board of Trustees meetings. *
- Required to work in person and on site. *
- Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent. *
- Follows the policies and procedures of the school(s) and the District. *
- Participates in professional growth (such as professional organizations coursework workshops and conferences) and other professional activities (such as school and/or District committees taskforces in-depth studies or councils). *
- Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility such as demonstrating ethical behavior; providing accurate data and reports when needed; meeting deadlines; maintaining confidentiality; caring for the equipment and materials; and dressing appropriately; exhibiting sensitivity to those with special needs; maintaining good professional relationships with parents and community members; and presenting a good role model. *

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Strong knowledge of human resources management and workforce systems; ability to lead recruitment and retention initiatives; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to support employee relations and performance systems; knowledge of licensure and employment requirements in education settings; ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership; and demonstrated excellence in communication and organizational leadership.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters degree in educational leadership organizational leadership human resources business administration or a related field or Juris Doctorate from accredited law school.
Work Experience: Demonstrated experience in school leadership organizational systems or workforce strategy within a complex organization.
Preferred: Doctorate degree in educational leadership or a related field and successful experience in a central administration leadership position.
