Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Deputy Athletic Director / SWA the Head Softball Coach is responsible for overseeing all areas of the softball program including coaching and implementing practice plans; identifying evaluating and recruiting athletically and academically qualified student-athletes; administrative tasks such as travel arrangements; fostering academic endeavors and personal growth of student-athletes; and fundraising.
- Oversees all recruitment initiatives for the softball program including identifying prospective student-athletes determining the timing and/or setting(s) of pursuing recruits and offering scholarships as appropriate and considering any budgetary restrictions.
- Oversees establishes and/or coordinates practice dates and times game strategies and training strategies for the softball program in order to remain competitive at the Division I level.
- Oversees academic initiatives coordinates with the Matador Achievement Center (MAC) communications to help address academic issues and supports student-athletes in academic endeavors.
