The Outside Parts Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with independent repair shops and collision centers to drive parts sales growth. This role focuses on generating new business increasing market share and providing exceptional service to existing accounts through regular in-person visits and ongoing communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local repair shops body shops and collision centers
- Actively prospect and develop new accounts to grow parts sales
- Conduct regular in-person visits to assigned accounts to promote products and services
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate parts solutions
- Prepare and present pricing quotes and promotions to customers
- Follow up on orders backorders and customer inquiries to ensure satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal parts and delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities for growth
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities customer interactions and account status
- Meet or exceed assigned sales goals and performance metrics
Qualifications
- Previous experience in automotive parts sales aftermarket sales or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and collision repair industry is a plus
- Proven ability to build relationships and close sales
- Excellent communication negotiation and customer service skills
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Work Environment
- Primarily field-based with daily travel to customer locations
- Occasional time spent in dealership or warehouse setting
- May require lifting and transporting automotive parts
