Job Title: Echocardiographer
Location: Paramus
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
Duration: 23 Weeks (High potential for extension or permanent placement)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a highly skilled Echocardiographer to join a leading healthcare facility. This role is responsible for performing comprehensive cardiac ultrasound procedures and supporting cardiologists in diagnostic and interventional studies. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical expertise attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiographic studies including 2D M-Mode Doppler color flow stress echo and TEE
- Assist physicians during stress echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures
- Obtain and document patient history; prepare patients for procedures
- Acquire and archive high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation
- Identify and communicate abnormal or critical findings in a timely manner
- Operate portable ultrasound equipment for bedside imaging
- Maintain calibrate and troubleshoot echocardiography equipment
- Ensure accurate documentation reporting and compliance with billing standards
- Adhere to infection control aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Maintain a clean safe and compliant work environment
- Participate in staff training and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy physiology and pathophysiology
- Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and sterile techniques
- Proficiency with advanced echocardiography equipment and imaging systems
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Cardiac Sonography Program
Certifications & Licensure
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) required
- BLS Certification (AHA) required within 30 days of hire
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of echocardiography experience (preferred)
- Experience in cardiac catheterization lab or invasive procedures (preferred)
- Ongoing continuing education required (minimum 15 CE hours every 3 years)
