A little about the Early Intervention Department

The Early Intervention (EI)Department offers early intervention/childrens mental health programs designedto reduce risk and to enhance the development for substance-exposed children(prenatal 6 years) by providing services which address maternal addictionproblems and related issues and the mother-child relationship through communitybased cross-systemic partnerships. The EI department conducts evaluation andresearch focused on issues relevant to the early intervention programs whichinclude: Breaking the Cycle (BTC) Parent-Infant Program and Connections.

Job summary

Asour newest Research Coordinatoryou will play a crucial role in managing all research and evaluation of key activities for the Circles of Protection and Connection/Cercles de Protection et de Connexion initiative.

Reporting to theClinical Psychologist youll work alongside a team of dedicated staff and community partners delivering and evaluation of the Circle of Security Parenting group and the Connections interpersonal violence group intervention across Ontario. Sound exciting Heres a little more


As a Research Coordinator you will...

  • Conceptualize and conduct research activities in support of Circles for Protection and Connection/Cercles de Protection et de Connexion project ensuring consistency with established methodological approaches and models adherence to project timelines and completeness of documentation
  • Communicate to Project team developments/progress and results of research activities ensuring that relevant information and issues in the implementation of projects are captured in as comprehensive and timely manner
  • Develop collaborative links with stakeholders in related program areas to gain exposure to and build knowledge on research activities and approaches to improve conceptual development and implementation of program
  • Work closely with the Project Coordinator in the implementation and evaluation of the project
  • Source and conduct literature reviews
  • Develop metrics for all project activities across phases of service
  • Develop organize and conduct focus group sessions to collect information
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with intervention site community staff and research partners
  • Provide support to Indigenous graduate student and Research Advisor


You will be set up for success if you have...

  • Masters degree (MA/MSc) in a related discipline (e.g. psychology public health social work sociology or a similar field); Doctoral degree (PhD) an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in research coordination and/or program evaluation including data management and analysis
  • Graduate level training in research methods and statistics including qualitative methods and program evaluation
  • Bilingual in English and French preferred
  • Knowledge of SPSS is required
  • Experience in working with diverse groups
  • Knowledge of the child and family violence sector
  • Satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check
