Responsible for the management and coordination of patient scheduling inventory control and the equipment/ instrumentation areas. Is responsible for areas that input statistical information and charging. Works in conjunction with Surgical Services management staff to manage the financial and business operations for Perioperative Services. Is one of the liaisons for the surgeons anesthesiologists central service purchasing finance and departments that interact with the operating room. Is responsible for the capital and supply portion of the operational budget. Participates in the development and implementation of strategic and business plans for areas of responsibility. This position reports to the Vice President Operations at Mercy.Position Details:

Overview: Develops and maintains effective relationships and lines of communication with the workforce and physician staff both intra and interdepartmentally.
Works collaboratively with the other management staff to accomplish goals of the department. Serves as a resource to ancillary areas that utilize comparable services equipment and/or procedures.
Maintains awareness of professional issues standards and regulations at a local state and national levels that would impact the procedures and processes utilized in the areas of management. Develops policy and
procedures that reflect the work and standards of the area of service.
Establishes an inventory system for supplies and instrumentation that ensures appropriate par levels turnaround time and communication of supply or equipment needs or lack of availability to appropriate individuals.
Human resources duties such as interviewing and hiring caregivers.
Meets with vendors and evaluates the product lines offering suggestions for replacements with the theory of cost containment. Participates in the negotiation and implementation and compliance process. Works closely with the surgeons and staff for a smooth transition.
Education: Bachelors degree in related field or business.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience/expertise in related field or business.
Other: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Manages others in a kind courteous and professional manner. Demonstrates the ability to evaluate and compile financial reports to support business decisions expenditures and cost-benefit analysis.
Preferred Education: Masters degree preferred.
