Job Summary
Our client a top healthcare company seeks a Sr. Director / VP EHR Implementation which involves serving as the senior accountable leader responsible for end-to-end value realization of the Epic EHR transformation program. This role acts as the bridge between strategy operations and technology ensuring the EHR transformation delivers measurable clinical operational and financial outcomes across a complex federated care delivery environment.
The Role.
- Own the overall Epic EHR program charter including scope objectives success criteria and governance model.
- Establish and lead program governance structures (Steering Committees Operational Committees decision frameworks).
- Serve as the primary escalation point for cross-functional risks trade-offs and decisions.
- Ensure alignment across clinical operations ITS finance and executive leadership.
- Own the end-to-end business case including financial model investment thesis and benefit tracking.
- Define and track value realization metrics (e.g. productivity gains revenue recovery patient growth retention).
- Ensure realization of targeted outcomes such as clinical workflow optimization revenue cycle improvement and productivity/labor efficiency gains.
- Define and maintain the multi-year EHR transformation roadmap ().
- Translate enterprise strategy into sequenced implementation phases and milestones.
- Align clinical workflows digital strategy data/analytics roadmap and population health/VBC strategy.
- Act as the senior interface between the organization and EHR vendor(s) and system integrators.
- Ensure Epic EHR design reflects future-state clinical and operational workflows not legacy processes.
- Drive workflow standardization at scale (2700 clinics) while respecting necessary variation.
- Lead and align senior leaders across Clinical Informatics Revenue Cycle Operations ITS/Architecture/Integration and Data & Analytics.
- Identify and mitigate risks across implementation timeline business case assumptions workflow adoption and vendor delivery.
- Transition the program from implementation to optimization and value capture.
- Ensure establishment of KPI tracking framework continuous improvement backlog and governance for enhancements.
- Drive long-term outcomes across patient experience clinical quality and cost-to-serve reduction.
- Ensure budgets and schedules are within company requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Code of Business Conduct company policies and all applicable laws/regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in healthcare information technology health informatics or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience including 5 years of senior management experience.
- Strong business acumen and experience in a large distributed workforce within a matrixed environment.
- Excellent planning organization analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership ability excellent facilitation skills and strong written/oral communication skills.
- Experience with EHR implementation training and support; hands-on experience with EHR systems.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
- Project management experience and analytical/problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA) data security and interoperability standards.
- Strong management and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
Preferred Qualifications.
- Masters Degree.
- Certifications or Health IT credentials (e.g. CPHIMSSM CAHIMS).
- Familiarity with clinical decision support tools and patient engagement solutions.
