This role sits at the intersection of legal advisory content monetisation and rights systems management. The incumbent will act as a key enabler for business teams by providing clear guidance on content exploitation within contractual boundaries while ensuring accuracy and integrity of rights data within the Rights Management System (RMS).
Key Responsibilities
Interpret production acquisition licensing and syndication agreements to advise on permissible exploitation across platforms formats languages and territories
Act as apoint of contactfor all rights-related queries from internal stakeholders (content syndication distribution product and operations teams)
Provide clear andactionable guidanceto enable content monetisation while ensuring contractual compliance
Manage and ensure accuracy of rights data within the RMS including metadata structuring validation and audit readiness
Partner with product and technology teams to enhance RMS workflows data capture standards and reporting capabilities
Identify monetisation opportunities rights gaps and under-utilised rightsthrough proactive contract analysis
Flag and manage risks ambiguities and restrictionsin both legacy and ongoing deals including defining escalation thresholds where required
Oversee and manage a team supporting rights ingestion validation and query resolution
Support internal alignment by creating standardised interpretation frameworks playbooks and guidance notes
Ideal Candidate Profile
46 years PQE
Experience in media/entertainment digital platforms broadcast networks or law firms with IP/media focus
Strong experience in contract interpretation particularly content licensing acquisition and syndication agreements
Working knowledge of content rights constructs(territories platforms windows formats exclusivity language rights etc.)
Demonstrated ability to translate legal provisions into clear business enabling-advice
Exposure to rights management systems content databases or legal-tech workflowsis strongly preferred
Experience working cross-functionally with business tech and operations teams
Strong analytical problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
Preferred / Good to Have
Experience with rights management platforms
Prior involvement in RMS implementation migration or transformation projects
Experience in handling high-volume content libraries and legacy contract frameworks
