Director of Business Development

The Director of Business Development is a hands-on senior leadership role that combines strategic vision with day-to-day operational execution. This position oversees the proposal team and manages campaigns across all 13 business units and works closely with Chief Strategy Officer Director of Marketing and Communications and senior leadership to translate corporate goals into actionable marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of progressive business development experience including team leadership and experience in professional services marketing with AEC or related industry experience strongly preferred. They are both strategic and execution-focused capable of balancing multiple priorities mentoring staff managing cross-functional stakeholders and vendors and maintaining high-quality standards.This is a new position and is ahybrid role based in Denver CO.

Key strategic responsibilities:

• Organize plan schedule and manage the firms sales efforts
• Determine sales objectives to meet firmwide goals
• Manage CRM system to capture client data and track business development activity
• Work with technical staff to develop proposals and scopes of work and estimate fees
• Develop business development model and strategy seller-doer program
• Direct or develop training of employees firm-wide including marketing and business development staff as well as seller-doers
• Maintain a visibility in professional and community organizations
• Develop long-term client relationships with the goal of making optimal go/no-go decisions develop effective win strategies and ensure the highest level of satisfaction and service
• Assess each potential pursuit regarding its ability to meet the firms strategic positioning and goals
• Represent the firm at the highest level to clients peer organizations and business associates
• Work with appropriate team members to create and execute a winning strategy for all key chases; ensure teams have identified the appropriate benefits and differentiators
• Continuously research and analyze market trends emerging geographies target sectors and prospective clients to identify and prioritize strategic growth opportunities
• Travel as needed
