Your Role

Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) is one of Victorias largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.

Applications are invited for a motivated and organisedHousing Coordinator to join the MDAS Assets team.

Reporting to the Assets Manager as the Housing Coordinator you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day management of rental properties within the MDAS Community Housing portfolio. This role plays a key part in supporting successful tenancies maintaining property compliance and ensuring high quality tenancy management services are delivered across the portfolio.

Additionally you will assist in ensuring MDAS maintains compliance as a Registered Housing Provider while also monitoring the performance and effectiveness of external property agents managing rental agreements on behalf of MDAS. There is a strong focus on achieving positive tenancy outcomes maximising property availability and rental income supporting debt collection processes and ensuring services are delivered efficiently and in accordance with the License to Access and Management Agreement with HHS MDAS tenancy management partner.

This is a permanent full time position based at our Mildura office location.

Key Selection Criteria
  • Essential experience in working in the social and community housing property management combined with community sector experience.

  • Demonstrated high level experience in the development implementation and evaluation of delivery of evidence base best practice care in a Social Housing setting

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including relationship management with mediation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated organisational skills ability to prioritise maintain accuracy and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Highly trustworthy and dependable particularly when handling sensitive issues

  • Demonstrated high level of IT skills using Microsoft Office and other software programs/packages relevant to the position.

  • Demonstrated commitment to community development and cultural preservation.

Qualification/s & experience

  • Diploma in Community Services Real Estate or a related discipline or relevant knowledge and experience in Social Housing.

Other Screening Requirements

  • A current drivers license that allows driving in Australia
  • A current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
  • A current National Police check
