Job Description:
Ensure the financial stability and lawfulness of the University of Toledo Medical Center by adhering to collection guidelines/criteria as well as maintaining compliance with self-pay payers in regards to federal state local and private regulations. Works with Pre-Cert Admitting Health Information Management Outcomes Management and other front end vendors to develop sound financial arrangements for uninsured or underinsured patients. Works with inpatient and ambulatory care services with the interpretation and administration of the Financial Clearance Policy. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in business or related field or equivalent experience performing Financial Counseling functions.
Ability to multi-task
Knowledge of medical terminology patient billing collection policies procedures guidelines and/or standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business preferred or 3-5 years of experience performing Financial Counseling functions required
Proficient in Word and Excel required
Experience with Financial Assistance
EPIC experience
