Role Outline:

To perform a wide variety of fault diagnosis/repair tasks on Thermal Optical Measurement Equipment in order to reduce on hand faulty material and drive systematic process improvements.

Were seeking a technically minded individual to join our production team providing handson technical support for optical and noncontact thermal measurement equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics and physics excellent IT skills and the ability to understand and apply calibration processes to diagnose adjust and repair precision temperature instruments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. To test and repair a wide variety of Fluke equipment to ensure adherence to defined specifications and quality standards.
  2. As required by the Production Team Leader to assess/sign calibration certificates for defined products.
  3. Responsible to adherence to defined processes in assigned work area including but not limited to; Standard Work Instructions 5S Standards Safe Systems of Work or Engineering Drawings.
  4. As appropriate to train fellow Operatives/Technicians on defined processes as requested by the relevant Production Team Leader.
  5. Take part in the complex diagnosis and rework of Fluke product down to Component level and record and/or escalate fault(s) to Team Leaders/Manufacturing Engineering/Metrology/Quality Engineer(s) as required.
  6. Suggest and/or implement process/product improvements using the FBS (Fortive Business System) toolset in order to improve operating KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as Safety Quality Delivery Productivity and Cost.
  7. As required partake in the creation review and implementation of new procedures/work instructions including suggesting improvements to currently issued procedures for both current and new products.
  8. As required and communicated by the Production Team Leader(s) take part in the diagnosis root cause analysis & repair of customer DOA (Defective on Arrival) returns and loading into the specified Fluke system(s) in order to participate in improving the customer experience.

FBS Activities:

  • A portion of time may be spent attending required meetings Trainings 1:1 reviews and Performance Appraisal reviews as communicated by the Production Team Leader. You are expected to take an active role in these events.

  • The business may require you to actively participate in continuous improvement events (Kaizens) or other applicable events which will be communicated to you from time to time.
  • The business may require you to actively participate in Daily Management meetings to report out achieved results and manage business expectations.

Position Scope:

  • Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review.
  • Interacts daily with fellow Assembly Operatives and/or Manufacturing/Calibration Technician(s)
  • Interaction normally involves exchange/movement of Fluke product however may include quality feedback to Operatives as found during fault diagnosis.
  • Interacts daily with the Production Team Leader as required to define priorities and escalate issues as required for the proper performance of the role.
  • Interacts as required with other members of the Fluke Management team however primary management contact will remain with the immediate Team Leader.
  • Interacts with Engineering/Metrology groups as required in order to ensure systems/instruments comply with provided specifications.

Interaction:

Equipment Maintenance:

  • A portion of time may be spent on maintenance/calibration/measuring of manufacturing equipment as defined by the Production Team Leader this may include but is not limited to; EHV High Voltage (>40kV testers) Testing Jigs/equipment and ESD furnishings subject to appropriate training & authorizations.

  • Inspection of soldering to defined IPC Standard (Training Provided where necessary)
  • Knowledge of electrical components and circuitry behaviour

  • PC Literacy including Microsoft Office especially Excel & Microsoft Access
  • Physics & Optical theory understanding
