Early Learning Program Administrator

Position Description:

The Early Learning Program Administrator provides leadership to the school community and to the Leominster School District. As the schools leader the Early Learning Program Administrator serves as a teacher of teachers focusing curriculum and instruction on increasing student learning. The Early Learning Program Administrator both oversees the daily operations of three early childhood sites and provides long-term visioning to ensure student-centered effective and efficient practices. The Early Learning Program Administrator is responsible for overseeing the instructional program for both typical children and children with special needs ages three through six years of age along with providing educational leadership for the staff students and community. Working closely with the Superintendent of Schools and members of the leadership Cabinet the Early Learning Program Administrator implements policies and directives promoting the success of all students accountability in all practices and fiscal responsibility. The Early Learning Program Administrator serves as a member of the Leadership Team and provides leadership in directing initiatives of the district.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as the leader of Early Childhood programming the primary liaison between the school and the district office and the primary spokesperson between the school and the larger community.
  2. Provides direction to staff in developing and maintaining a rigorous relevant and aligned curriculum which meets the needs of students in the 21st century.
  3. Provides instructional leadership for the alignment of curriculum instruction and assessment through the purposeful observation and evaluation of teachers and staff.
  4. Implements comprehensive student support services and activities geared to the needs and interests of all students.
  5. Demonstrates effective management of the schools.
  6. Maintains respectful honest open and effective communication with school staff the district office parents and community members; apprises the Superintendent of significant events occurring in the school.
  7. Coordinates an effective and comprehensive School Improvement Plan with staff members which focuses on the vision and goals of the school. This plan is consistent with the district strategic plans goals and objectives.
  8. Serves as an advocate for equal access to education and equal opportunities in education for all children.
  9. Acts ethically and according to professional norms to promote each students academic success and well-being.
  10. Collaborates with families and community members maintains a presence in the community to understand its strengths and needs develops productive relationships and engages resources for the school.
  11. Fosters school climates that address the individual needs of students in a diverse school community.
  12. Is innovative and creative in programmatic adjustments of Early Learning programming.
  13. Analyzes student data and runs effective data cycles.
  14. Performs all other responsibilities as determined by the Superintendent of Schools.

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated instructional leadership skills
  2. Demonstrated commitment to parent involvement in schools
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills
  4. A strong vision of education
  5. Understanding of curriculum development
  6. Strong supervision and evaluation skills
  7. Master teacher
  8. A strong commitment to public education
  9. Minimum of Masters Degree
  10. Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure as a Principal

Evaluation of performance will be performed at least annually by the Superintendent of Schools or his or her designee. Terms of employment and salary are negotiated individually with the Superintendent of Schools.

Salary range for the 2026-2027 school year is $120500 - $125500
