JOB SUMMARY
The Career Pathway Senior Specialist is responsible for promoting Aspires mission of creating access for scholars to be college career and life-ready by leveraging relationships within local regional state and national communities to ensure students have the means opportunities and preparation to succeed in college and in the workplace. The Career Pathway Senior Specialist helps to coordinate and lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of our early college pathways and other work-based learning initiatives as it aligns with an Aspire high school sites early college programming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work-Based Learning
- Collaborate with the local industry partners and pathway teachers to develop course progression pathways and work-based learning experiences aligned to industry needs
- Support with the coordination of work-based learning opportunities with external partners for established early college career exposure and CTE pathways
- Maintain and keep up-to-date site/District partnership databases to provide student participation in work-based learning; maintain a database of student and partner work-based learning experiences and partnerships with the school.
- Assist the school site principal pathway/academy leads and instructional leadership team to implement and advocate for the development of a robust integrated pathway work-based learning program with classroom projects with student self-assessments.
- Promote the integration of career concepts and work-based learning opportunities into academic courses and with the school community more broadly
- Support the inclusion of family partnership opportunities in support of pathway implementation and enhancement
- Provide presentations workshops etc. to students and families in content related to early college career exposure and CTE pathways
Dual Enrollment Program:
- Coordinate dual enrollment course offerings in collaboration with the regional manager and school site principal
- In collaboration with and under the direction of the school site Administrative Team oversee the day-to-day operations of the dual enrollment program including the course review and approval process managing student enrollments course registrations and verifying eligibility.
- Monitor and track student progress throughout the program to ensure they meet program requirements.
- Develop appropriate strategies processes and procedures for increasing student participation in dual enrollment programs; research best practices and network with coordinators in other districts.
Additional:
- Work in collaboration with the Principal and the Regional Office to achieve site and organizational goals
- Perform other related duties as related and assigned including but not limited to student supervision small group student advising etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to Aspire Public Schools mission vision value statements standards policies and procedures operating instructions confidentiality standards and the code of ethical behavior
QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
- Demonstrated commitment to students and learning
- Knowledge of early college programming and guided college pathways is preferable (or interest in learning)
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly
- Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and interact effectively with different audiences
- Strong attention to detail
- Maintain accurate records
Education Level:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- AA degree or equivalent work experience is required
Minimum Experience:
- 3 years of experience managing and coordinating projects
- Experience working in a school or classroom setting preferred
Physical requirements:
- Moving oneself in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Remaining in a stationary position often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Assessing the accuracy neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists hands and/or fingers.
Work authorization requirements:
- Clear the Department of Justice background screening
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Provide health (TB) clearance
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Our salary schedule based on years of experience for this position type is$70304 - $90250.
