Job Description:
The Senior IT Security Specialist would oversee the protection handling and compliance of sensitive government information. Develop policies manage training and implement IT security controls to meet DFARS/CMMC requirements acting as the central point for internal and external audits and risk management.
Essential Functions:
- Documentation Management: Lead the creation and maintenance of theSystem Security Plan (SSP)and thePlan of Action and Milestones (POA&M). Requirements traceability matrixs.
- Audit Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact forC3PAO(Third-Party Assessment Organizations) and manage formal assessments.
- Risk Remediation: Oversee the closing of security gaps identified during internal or external readiness assessments
- Continuous Monitoring: Conduct regular system audits (inventory control and cyber audits) incident response testing and ongoing policy enforcement
- Personnel Security: Develop and deliverrole-based security training
- Microsoft Office Suite and tools: Experience with the Office suite of tools Word Excel Powerpoint Visio OneNote SharePoint
- Scan Compliance : Nessus and SCAP scanning results remediation tracking
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.
- 47 years in government compliance security or project management specifically with DOD regulations or cybersecurity frameworks.
- Deep understanding of NIST SP 800-171 DFARS and NARA CUI guidelines.
- Ability to identify and classify Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Federal Contract Information (FCI) within the organization.
- The position involves heavy lifting ladder work and working in tight or confined areas.
- May require up to 5% travel CONUS
Preferred Additional Skills:
- CMMCCertified Professional (CCP)orCMMC Certified Assessor (CCA)designations.
