Job Details / Position Summary
Overview
We are seeking candidates for the position of Logistics Specialist I at the Indianapolis site. The candidate will perform Logistics support relating to coordinating pack instructions per contractual requirements and handing out pack jobs to material packers. This position requires an in-depth understanding of contractual requirements hazardous material regulations and packing instructions.
Position requires a high degree of accuracy to ensure material is packed according to specs and shipped correctly by various carriers. Erroneous data or failure to achieve objectives will have a serious effect on the ability of V2X to meet customer delivery requirements and meet financial goals. Provides training for others. Position also includes cross-functional duties within Front Desk Staff Document Control and Receiving. This position is also responsible for monitoring pack supply inventory and ordering.

Major Job Activities

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasking work environment.
Demonstrated ability to interface with a wide variety of internal and external customers peers and management in order to deliver resolution in assigned areas.
Successful experience with being tactful and diplomatic in regard to assisting customers.
Decision making responsibility with minimal supervision.
4 to 6 years of intermediate knowledge & experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to perform research and analysis in a variety of systems.
Ability to resolve customer requirements for the delivery of contractual deliverables.
Ability to be flexible and adaptive to learning new job responsibilities and tasks.
May conduct interviews and make staffing recommendations.
Share key organizational communications with teams and ensure appropriate actions are completed.
Continuous improvement of processes which may extend to other key functional areas.
Maintain the data necessary for compliance with the various facility certifications.
Perform related work as required.
Ensure projects are completed on time following established procedures and schedules.

Qualifications
Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience utilizing SAP systems and planning of tasking.
Minimum of 2 years experience leading a leading and developing a team.

Skills & Technology Used:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Strong people skills with the ability to handle difficult discussions.
Ability to communicate technical concerns in a manner the audience can understand.
Knowledge of SAP applications including Horizon S4
Knowledge of S4 Shipping processes
