HYW Kindergarten & 1st Grade Jumpstart Summer Program - Teachers (4)
Program Goal: Students entering Hyannis West Elementary kindergarten and 1st grade will be invited to participate in a summer session to prepare these students and their families for the Kindergarten and 1st Grade school routines expected behaviors supports available and allay fears.
Position: Teachers
Job Description: Teachers will:
- Introduce entering Kindergarten students to the classroom setting routines and expectations
- Model expected behaviors in the classroom
- Plan prepare and deliver jumpstart curriculum & daily activities
- Provide student data to Program Coordinator
- Tour the school building including cafeteria and gymnasium
- Program staff will report to school and/or program administration and follow participating students progress
Program duration and anticipated schedule
- August 10 2026 August 20 2026
- Monday through Thursday 8:30am - 12:30pm (4 hrs/day)
- 4 Hours Program Preparation/Orientation
- 1 Hour of End of Program Clean Up Time
- (37 Hours Total)
Qualifications
- Appropriate certification and/or educational background
- Strong planning and organizational skills
Reports to: Principal and Program Coordinator
