Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with Business Leadership standards that address student and building needs while intentionally integrating entrepreneurship concepts to promote critical thinking innovation and real-world application of skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Nine and one-fourth (9.25) month teacher contract (190 days). NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined by education and experience. FLSA: EXEMPT
TEACHER SALARY SCHEDULE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must meet Arkansas certification requirements 6-12
- Demonstrates a willingness to try new teaching and assessment strategies that would benefit all students.
- Willingness to participate in and deliver ongoing staff development.
- Demonstrates the conviction that all children can and will learn in the Little Rock School District.
- Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.
- Evidence of organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
- Provide background knowledge of Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship
- Experience teaching middle school CTE business courses is preferred but not required; candidates should demonstrate a dynamic engaging instructional approach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. - Designs and implements a program of study aligned with CTE standards that intentionally integrates the BLE magnet theme into daily instruction connecting business leadership and entrepreneurship concepts across grade levels.
- Regularly assesses students accomplishments and provides progress reports as required.
- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students maturity and interests.
- Collaborates with grade-level and content-area teachers to develop and co-facilitate interdisciplinary PBL units that connect business and entrepreneurship concepts to core academic content.
- Plans organizes and facilitates a Business Showcase or Shark Tank-style student presentation event twice annually inviting community partners business leaders and families to observe and respond to student work.
- Demonstrates strong writing and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
- Demonstrates the ability to support students with projects and presentations that integrate classroom learning.
- Provides students with hands-on learning experiences in lab settings that promote skill development problem-solving and real-world application centered around business leadership and entrepreneurship.
- Cultivates and maintains relationships with community business partners to provide students with authentic learning experiences guest speakers mentors and real-world entrepreneurship opportunities
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

This position requires accurate perception of sound near and far vision depth perception handling and working with educational materials and/or objects and providing oral information. The employee must be able to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period and be physically present at the assigned work with only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year. Additional technical skills knowledge and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
