Raytheon Industry 4.0 - Smart Digital Factory and Automation (SDF&A) has an immediate career-growth opportunity for an enthusiastic highly motivated and innovative Software Systems Engineer team member to join our Team. As a Digital Factory developer you will be a key contributor to design development integration testing and deployment of advanced IIoT / Industry 4.0 technologies based in Ignition. Additionally this role will perform root cause corrective action (RCCA) for any hardware and software issues identified in the SDF&A products in the manufacturing factory while supporting data analytics and data visualization efforts. The role will be in close collaboration with digital factory engineering chief engineers / architects front end of the business and SDF&A / factory leadership and will include all aspects of the product development lifecycle - planning requirements design development test deployment and sustainment.

Our Connected Factory Intelligence & Automation (CFI&A) organization delivers advanced IIoT / Industry 4.0 technologies based in Ignition and plays a key role across manufacturing environments.

What You Will Do *

Execute projects involving Ignition application development.

Contribute to IIoT continued growth and deployment by working with sensors gateways connectivity solutions APIs and data analytic platforms.

Provide recommendations and execution on methods to connect manufacturing equipment to IIoT/OT layer network

Set communication protocols and network configurations on network devices (EIP Modbus/TCP MQTT etc).

Contribute to major team projects as well as work with minimal oversight to solve complex problems supporting SDF&A Engineering Systems.

Analyze and correlate large complex data sets; support digital thread implementation; develop and execute analytics reports and visualization toolsets while ensuring data integrity.

Expected to Travel 10% of the time.

What You Will Learn

Exposure to Industry 4.0 subject matter experts and Digital Technologies teams gaining handson experience with Ignition IIoT systems and modern factory connectivity

How to support and execute full product lifecycle activities requirements development testing deployment and sustainment for digital factory systems

Qualifications You Must Have *

7 years related experience to include Ignition SCADA development using combination of tools such as: SQL Python C#/.NET HTML5 JSON

Extensive knowledge of scripting and dashboarding

Experience with Azure DevOps services framework or similar Agile Project Management tools

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance and who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Experience with Industry 4.0 key concepts connectivity data collection IIoT systems integration AI machine learning ISA-95 Pub/Sub.

Experience with data analytics with skills that demonstrate the ability to prepare process analyze and visualize significant amounts of information from multiple data sources.

Strong communication project management and collaboration skills; experience working across organization boundaries

A Technical Degree in Science Engineering Math Computer Science or related job experience

Qualifications We Prefer

Ignition gold certification or willingness to achieve within first year

Experience using industrial communication protocols such as Modbus/TCP MQTT EIP SECS/GEM etc.

Experience building APIs and creating web applications

Experience with Splunk! PowerBI GraphQL Tableau SQL Server SAP Eyelit Windows Task Scheduler Automation SQL Server job agent automation SQL Server SSIS

Experience with big data and data mining

Experience in distributed controls cyber security IT infrastructure integration or other related fields

Experience working in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)

Understanding of automation systems (robots vision systems PLCs etc.) deployment and integration

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in ScienceTechnology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 86800 USD - 165200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
