Job Summary
Job Title: Principal Platform Engineer
Location: Charlotte NC(Hybrid)
Job Type: Contract W2
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
8 years of cloud platform or infrastructure engineering experience including 3 years of principal or senior-level ownership of enterprise cloud foundation architecture IaC platform design or cloud governance engineering.
Expert-level Terraform proficiency - including module design state management workspace patterns provider configuration testing with Terratest or comparable frameworks and CI/CD integration for IaC delivery.
Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure platform architecture - including management groups subscriptions Azure Policy RBAC networking (hub-spoke Virtual WAN) identity (Entra ID managed identity PIM) and Azure landing zone design patterns.
Demonstrated experience designing and operating subscription vending or environment provisioning automation for enterprise-scale Azure organizations.
Strong understanding of cloud security controls policy-as-code compliance automation and regulated enterprise cloud governance requirements.
Experience integrating infrastructure-as-code delivery into CI/CD pipelines with testing scanning approval gates and audit trail requirements.
Ability to set platform standards influence engineering architecture decisions and drive cloud platform quality across a cross-functional engineering organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for architecture documentation design reviews governance reporting and cross-team collaboration.
