SUMMARY & PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To support New Products & Franchise Leadership in Neurosciences across:
Neuroscience therapeutic Area & Franchise strategy evolution
Internal Pipeline Commercial Planning
Commercial evaluations of new global business opportunities
At Ipsen we are committed to advancing transformative neuromodulator therapies in Neuroscience with a strategic focus on migraine movement disorders and cervical dystonia. To deliver on this ambition we are strengthening our internal pipeline including the continued development of IPN10200 currently progressing through Phase 2. As we evolve our Neuroscience franchise building robust early commercial foundations for our assets is critical to shaping future therapeutic area strategy and ensuring longterm franchise impact.
To support this we are expanding our therapeutic neuroscience team to enhance early commercial planning and strengthen strategic decisionmaking across the Neuroscience pipeline. The Director New Product Planning & Strategy plays a central role in guiding asset strategy (mainly IPN 10200 and Dysport in therapeutic indications) from early development onward informing indication prioritization shaping lifecycle planning and partnering closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure that commercial insights are embedded early and effectively.
This is a global role with responsibility for shaping the commercial strategy across all early-stage Neuroscience assets as well as Dysport within the Tx franchise.
This position directly influences Ipsens future Neuroscience portfolio and contributes to delivering on our longterm vision as a focused innovationdriven biopharmaceutical company.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Internal Pipeline: Early Commercial Planning
Lead early commercial planning process for IPN10200 including indication prioritization portfolio strategy lifecycle management planning and business case development.
Facilitate analyses required to support commercialization and/or continued development of new products.
Support cross-functional and country teams in pre-launch activities playing a pivotal role in the transition of these activities to a fully dedicated Global Brand Team as the asset progresses through its lifecycle.
Key deliverables include: brand strategy and launch plan launch readiness review campaign and core messaging global launch sequence and lifecycle indication prioritization.
Provide commercial leadership for Dysport lifecycle strategy including longterm indication assessment market evolution analysis competitive scenario planning and identification of future growth opportunities within the Tx franchise.
Ensure alignment with the longterm Neuroscience Therapeutic Area strategy embedding commercial insights and strategic assumptions across early asset planning Dysport strategy development and crossfunctional asset decisionmaking.
Lead global strategic commercial inputs into forecasting and LongRange Planning (LRP) ensuring robust evidencebased assumptions that reflect epidemiology competitive intelligence treatment dynamics and pricing & access considerations across all Neuroscience Tx assets including Dysport.
Strategy & Innovation
Support the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area Lead (Tx) and collaborate closely with crossfunctional partners (e.g. R&D Medical Affairs Regulatory Strategy & Transformation Global Pricing & Access Forecasting and country teams) to lead the strategic planning process for the Neuroscience Tx franchise.
Conduct landscape assessments analogue and competitor benchmarking patient journey and segmentation work and market evolution analyses to inform the ongoing development and refinement of the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area strategy.
Develop clear insightdriven strategic narratives and materials (including slides briefs and recommendation papers) that synthesize commercial scientific and market insights to support governance discussions and strategic decisionmaking.
Work with internal asset teams to ensure early commercial insights market needs and strategic considerations are incorporated into the evolution of each assets development and lifecycle planning.
Ensure that insights from earlystage assets and Dysport are fully integrated into the longterm Neuroscience Tx Therapeutic Area strategy supporting a cohesive commercial vision that guides portfolio prioritization asset progression and longrange planning.
Business Development: Commercial Evaluation (as needed)
Serve as the commercial lead for Neuroscience Tx in business development evaluations when opportunities are brought forward by the BD team providing strategic commercial input.
Conduct focused commercial assessments (e.g. market sizing competitive landscape review treatment dynamics and value drivers) to inform screening triage or duediligence activities for BDinitiated opportunities.
Synthesize commercial insights and provide clear recommendations to governance bodies and crossfunctional stakeholders to support informed decisionmaking on potential external opportunities.
Ensure evaluations remain efficient proportionate and aligned with internal Neuroscience strategy recognizing that BD support represents a small component of the overall remit of this role.
Work collaboratively with R&D and other critical functions within the Global Asset Teams to ensure efficient execution with a long-term commercial vision.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Knowledge & Experience (essential):
Significant experience in early commercial roles within a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry at global level or Strategy Consulting experience in life sciences (including work in early-commercial strategy commercialization LCM etc.)
Experience in early commercial planning launch planning and disease area strategy either as part of a pharmaceutical/ biopharma or a consultancy company
Experience in working across a cross-functional matrix team to meet deliverables on time and budget
Strong scientific and commercial experience with a proven knowledge of business development and launch activities
Strong communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated exceptional strategic thinking
Sense of urgency and experience in delivering parallel workstreams efficiently
Deep strategic marketing expertise (positioning targeting segmentation life cycle management)
Strong business acumen and understanding of global markets
Excellent analytical skills and strategic thinking

Education / Certifications (essential):
Advanced degree in Life Sciences-related discipline and/or an MBA
Language(s) (essential):
Fluency in spoken and written English knowledge of additional languages such as French would be helpful.
