This role sits at the forefront of our next chapter shaping how events are experienced and remembered in Tasmania.

The Opportunity

In this role you will support the preparation and execution of banquet culinary/kitchen operations working closely with Sales and Event Planning teams as well as Food & Beverage associates to deliver exceptional dining experiences for every event. You will contribute to a wide range of kitchen responsibilities ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality consistency and presentation.

As a hands-on team member you will assist the banquet kitchen during busy service periods maintaining efficient workflow and supporting seamless coordination with service teams to deliver an outstanding guest experience.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the preparation and execution of banquet menus in line with event requirements and standards
• Assist in the production and plating of dishes ensuring consistency quality and presentation
• Maintain cleanliness organisation and food safety standards across all kitchen areas
• Support mise en place and ensure timely preparation for all banquet services
• Collaborate with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery
• Follow recipes portion controls and presentation guidelines as directed
• Assist with stock rotation storage and minimising food wastage
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene health and safety regulations
• Support the kitchen team during high-volume service periods to maintain workflow
• Contribute to a positive and professional team environment

Profile

• Previous experience in a similar kitchen or banquet environment (hotel experience desirable)
• Basic understanding of large-scale food production and event service
• Strong knowledge of food safety hygiene and kitchen practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced high-volume environment
• Good attention to detail with a focus on quality and presentation
• Team-oriented with a positive and reliable attitude
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including early mornings evenings weekends and public holidays
