Job Summary: The Maintenance Quality Assurance Manager is responsible to ensure the maintenance quality assurance program described in the Maintenance Policy Manual and any documents incorporated by reference are compliant with the Canadian Aviation Regulation. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with maintenance regulations promoting continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards of safety and performance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum: Completion of Grade 12 (High School Diploma)
Preferred: Post-secondary education in Aircraft Maintenance aviation quality assurance or a related field
2 years experience in in Quality Assurance/Data Control Records Audit
Strong understanding of Aircraft Maintenance Regulations and compliance standards
Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret technical manuals and apply regulatory standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Willingness to travel as required
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation Security clearances
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Current Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry
Indigenous Awareness and/or Cultural Diversity training considered an asset
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Assisting in Managing the Quality Assurance system as described in the Maintenance Policy Manual and Documents Incorporated by Reference
Ensuring the requirements of the Canadian Aviation Regulations and the Maintenance Policy Manual are complied with through the Quality Audit process
Reporting audit results to QA Manager
Identifying initiating recommending or providing solutions to quality problems through designated channels
Verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions taken as a result of an audit
Retaining and safeguarding audit documents submitting audit documents as required ensuring confidentiality and treating privileged information with discretion
Supporting the Quality Assurance Manager
Appointing staff or external agencies to perform quality assurance duties
Ensuring the amendment maintenance and distribution of all manuals required by the Quality Assurance System
Performing base audits and supplier audits as required
Participating in assessment of ADs SBs and Technical Bulletins as required
Assisting in Ensuring the requirements of Workplace Safety and Health regulations are complied with by the company and staff
Performing special assignments
Other duties assigned
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based with regular visits to operational and clinical sites. May include time spent in aviation facilities or subbases to conduct audits and evaluations
Schedule: 8 hours per day - Monday to Friday (7:30 am to 4:00 pm) (Available evening/Weekend if required)
Frequent travel is required to various locations for internal and external audits inspections and quality assurance activities
Tools & Equipment: Daily use of desktop or laptop computers Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) for audit reports data analysis and presentations
Physical Demands: May involve prolonged periods of sitting computer use and occasional standing or walking during site visits. Must be able to carry audit materials and documentation
Collaboration: Regular interaction with medical personnel flight operations teams and regulatory bodies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital
