Job Overview
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a high-performing manufacturing team in a fast-paced high-volume stamping press production environment. This role is responsible for driving daily production performance ensuring safety compliance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and servant leadership.
You will oversee shop floor operations support team development and ensure production targets quality standards and delivery schedules are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce a safety-first culture
Conduct safety audits and lead incident/near-miss investigations
Ensure proper PPE usage and safety training compliance
Address unsafe behaviors and conditions immediately
Production Leadership
Supervise stamping press operations to meet production quality and delivery goals
Monitor workflow optimize staffing and ensure efficient machine utilization
Troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime and maintain flow
Servant Leadership & Team Development
Lead by example with a servant leadership approach
Coach train and develop team members through feedback and cross-training
Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues
Work with union stewards on discipline and contract matters
Continuous Improvement
Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S Kaizen)
Analyze scrap downtime and bottlenecks; implement corrective actions
Encourage operator-driven improvement ideas
Reporting & Communication
Maintain accurate KPIs for safety quality and production
Collaborate with maintenance quality and engineering teams to resolve issues quickly
Qualifications
Required:
13 years in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Bachelors degree in Business Manufacturing Engineering or Operations
Experience with Kanban process control and production scheduling systems
Physical Requirements
Standing for extended periods
Frequent bending and stooping
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
Manual dexterity is required for the production environment
