Job Title: Sterile Processing Coordinator

Location: Elmhurst IL
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract-to-Perm)
Schedule: 3rd Shift (11:00 PM 7:30 AM)

Compensation

• Travel/Non-Local Rate: $3436/hr ($1275 $1350/week)
• Local Rate: $2630/hr ($975 $1125/week)
  (Compensation based on experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Coordinator to oversee the coordination and management of loaner and consignment surgical trays. This role is critical in ensuring timely processing accuracy and compliance within sterile processing operations while maintaining strong communication across vendors and clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Loaner & Consignment Tray Coordination

• Act as the primary point of contact for all incoming and outgoing loaner and consignment trays
• Verify accuracy completeness and integrity of tray contents before and after sterilization
• Coordinate with vendors clinical partners and internal SPD teams to ensure timely delivery and proper processing
• Track and document tray movement throughout the full sterilization and return cycle

Production & Workflow Oversight

• Oversee daily production flow in collaboration with SPD leadership
• Prioritize workloads to ensure operational efficiency
• Identify and resolve delays discrepancies or workflow bottlenecks
• Provide guidance and day-to-day oversight to Production Technicians as needed

Communication & Relationship Management

• Serve as a liaison between vendors clinical teams and SPD staff
• Maintain clear communication regarding tray status delivery timelines and special requirements
• Represent the organization professionally in all interactions

Data Accuracy & Reporting

• Ensure accurate data entry into tracking systems (tray movement sterilization records etc.)
• Generate reports on activity volume trends and performance metrics
• Maintain documentation standards to support regulatory compliance

Required Skills & Experience

• 35 years of hands-on Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience
• Strong experience with loaner and consignment tray management
• Proven coordination skills across teams vendors and leadership
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Experience with instrument tracking systems and reporting tools
• Proactive detail-oriented and quality-focused mindset

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required

Certifications

• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or
• CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician)
