Job Summary

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors Degree or higher in Accounting Finance Information Technology or a directly related field and

Two (2) years in audit accounting finance compliance risk control or directly related experience or

An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.

Valid drivers license is required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Global Internal Audit Standards and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Ability to comprehend laws ordinances and regulations.

Ability to identify possible errors irregularities and illegal acts to ascertain compliance with laws and ordinances.

Ability to interact with clients in resolving difficult audit issues.

Ability to communicate with others objectively and tactfully both verbally and in written formats.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio.

Ability to travel to various work locations throughout the County.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Job Summary

Perform diverse and complex financial compliance and operational audits of County agencies or businesses. Collaborate with other colleagues during all phases of the audit process including developing the audit plan audit objectives audit scope and audit procedures. Prepare audit programs to achieve audit objectives. Complete audits on time and within budget. Escalate any barriers or issues related to audit in a timely manner. Responsible for gathering and analyzing sufficient appropriate evidence and data to reach a conclusion on the audit objectives. Conduct interviews with County agencies/bureaus to obtain an understanding of internal control structures and document understanding in a clear and concise manner. Prepare audit reports and management letters. Assist with following up on the implementation of audit recommendations. Communicate results of audits to leadership.
