- Clerk Grade 9/10 Salary from $129464 up to $142665 per annum plus super and leave loading
About the Role
As an Aboriginal Economic Development Manager you will work directly with Aboriginal owned and operated businesses Aboriginal Controlled Community Organisations (ACCOs) and Aboriginal communities to strengthen economic outcomes across regional NSW.
This role supports the NSW Closing the Gap Priority Reform 5 (Employment Business Growth and Economic Prosperity) helping to grow Aboriginal business capability improve employment outcomes and create sustainable training and career pathways for Aboriginal people.
You will lead and support initiatives that strengthen culture build capability and grow the Aboriginal business sector through meaningful partnerships and targeted regional action.
About You
This is an identified role under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and as such Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role. Aboriginal identified positions are developed where Aboriginal identity cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977) for Aboriginal people who meet the following criteria:
- is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and
- identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and
- is accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
Additionally you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in supporting and advocating for place-based Aboriginal ways of working knowing and doing within regional and economic development contexts.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain respectful partnerships with Aboriginal businesses organisations and communities informed by a deep understanding of their economic aspirations.
- Demonstrated capability in working across government to enable economic advancement for Aboriginal communities in regional NSW.
- Knowledge of the NSW Closing the Gap Priority Reform 5 and experience in strengthening the capacity of Aboriginal businesses and organisations to align with its key action areas.
- Skills and experience in designing and implementing regional strategies and initiatives that drive growth in Aboriginal-owned businesses and create sustainable economic opportunities.
