Job Summary
IT Officer (holding the functional title of Analyst Programmer) in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics School of Public Health (Ref.: 536169) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelors degree or above in information technology computer science engineering or a related discipline with at least 3 years work experience in application development. They should have (i) knowledge of HTML5 CSS JavaScript PHP jQuery JSON XML SQL and MySQL; (ii) experience in version control web-based development and CMS systems (e.g. Joomla); (iii) at least 2 years hands-on work experience in supporting Linux hosting platform including apache and tomcat; (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and (v) good communication analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in front-end/UI technologies such as AngularJS ReactJS and React Native is highly preferred.
The appointee will assist in the implementation management and maintenance of information systems for research projects related to COVID-19 and influenza. He/She will manage research data design templates for data visualization liaise with IT systems vendors provide on-site technical support for the maintenance of equipment and servers provide IT support in event management and perform other duties as assigned. Work outside normal office hours may be required occasionally.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefit. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
